Coonecting those looking for people with skills, experience, education to those who are looking for a new opportunity that matches what they are looking for in employment.
The community, Sage Mountain Botanical Sanctuary, and their neighbors, are looking for someone with expertise to help establish ecological monitoring for a recently beaver-inhabited wetland in their care, and to investigate flood mitigation capacity, and the impacts of a nearby highway on water quality. The project will be co-developed, shaped by both the needs of the community and the expertise and interest of the scientist. Read more about the community and the project here. It's a great opportunity to build skills in this field and potentially collaborate on scientific research.
Our preferred candidate:
- Is based in the Northeast US with the ability to travel to Orange, Vermont for fieldwork.
- Has the experience to establish ecological monitoring independently.
- There is no formal education requirement - just the skill and the will!
- Is equity-minded and collaborative.
This is a volunteer-based community science project, and is not compensated, but TEX may provide some funding to cover travel and other costs. Applications can be submitted here, but feel free to reach out to me with any questions! Tara Harmon, Community Science Fellow
