Introducing VAWS
VAWS is a new association (2023) whose mission is to:
“foster understanding and collaboration across multidisciplinary professions by providing wetland training, education, and networking for members and the general public, encouraging the use of science-based management and policy, promoting wetland research and the protection and restoration of wetlands and associated aquatic resources, and responding to future wetland challenges and opportunities in the State.”
VAWS is open to anyone with an interest in learning more about wetland science or on topics related to wetlands. Scroll through some group photos from VAWS Workshops and see past events.
A fun 4-page Article in the Rutland Magazine of how this got started!
Wetland Science is a multidisciplinary field with a specialization in the study of wetlands. Such disciplines include but are not limited to ecology, biology, zoology, botany, soil science, hydrology, geology, geomorphology, and chemistry.
